Supporting Children and Families in a time of COVID-19

With the cancellation of the annual Early Learning Conference, we wish to provide a space for our early learning professionals to access important ideas and resources to continue a high level of care and support for children while also prioritizing educator wellness.

Nutrition Support


SNAP155,000 Oregonians work in restaurants and bars. Thousands of others work in stores and businesses that are temporarily closing. Public structures like SNAP are here for these critical moments. SNAP offers nutrition assistance to eligible individuals and families. You can learn more on the Oregon Department of Human Services website about whether you’re eligible for SNAP and apply online to help keep food on the table.

BEND-LaPine
La Pine High School and Bend Senior High School sites open during Spring Break
Bend-La Pine Schools has extended its “grab and go” meals for children age 18 and under through April 28, including the week of Spring Break.
The meals will be available at five locations March 18-20 and March 30 to April 28. Bend-La Pine Schools will open two locations for meal pick-ups during Spring Break, March 23-27, at Bend Senior High School and La Pine High School.

Meals will be served on dates that were scheduled school days prior to the statewide closure order. Visitors are asked to enter through designated doors, pick up a meal from the cafeteria and then take the meal to go. Gathering inside the school will be discouraged.
Bend-La Pine Schools custodial staff will be cleaning before and after each meal.
Adults can purchase a meal for $4.

​SISTERS
Meals available at Sisters Elementary School. Seating is available outside or meals can be taken “grab and go.” Breakfast 8 to 8:30 am; lunch 11:30 am to noon.


MADRAS
Madras High School: Meals served at the entrance near the gym

Metolius: Meals served in the bus dropoff area

WARM SPRINGS
Warm Springs: K-8: Meals served at the curb next to the bus dropoff 

Meals:  March 16-20, March 30-31
Breakfast 7:30 am-8:30 am, Lunch 11 am-11:45 am  
Meals will be provided as a grab and go, or as a drive through. Eligible Individuals: Meals are free to children 1-18
